Daniel Vergara was born and raised in Little Village. Before joining Esperanza, he worked at Governors State University as the program assistant to the Director of Intercultural Student Affairs, where he developed programs around diversity and inclusion, aided in the retention of students of color, and promoted social justice issues on campus. He is a bilingual counselor who uses an integrated approach to counseling. Daniel spends his free time cooking, drawing, and practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
