Juan Barriga, Psy.D.

Dr. Juan Barriga is a clinical psychologist and behavioral health specialist at our Brighton Park clinic. He specializes and works with children, adolescents, and families. Prior to working at Esperanza, Dr. Barriga has worked and completed his clinical training in school-based, outpatient, inpatient, and community mental health settings throughout the Chicagoland area.

As a native southwest Chicagoan and son of immigrant parents, Dr. Barriga is passionate in giving back to the same community that raised him, so community members can have access to holistic and integrated support. He values community, social justice, equity, education, and quality care, which is why he joined the Esperanza team. Dr. Barriga teaches as an adjunct instructor at both Adler University and the RUSH-Esperanza Family Medicine Residency. When not working, Dr. Barriga enjoys cooking, dancing, volunteering, attending concerts, and spending time with loved ones.
