Stacy James

Dr. Stacey Jaimes-Herrera is a Family Medicine physician at Esperanza Health Centers. Before joining Esperanza, she completed her Family Medicine residency training at Northwestern University and went on to serve patients at a federally qualified health center in Humboldt Park.

A first-generation Mexican American and the first in her family to become a physician, Dr. Jaimes-Herrera was raised in the Brighton Park neighborhood. Having experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating the health system in a medically underserved area, she was inspired to pursue medicine with the hope of one day providing high-quality, culturally sensitive care to Latino communities. Today, practicing at Esperanza’s Brighton Park location, she feels honored to come full circle and serve the very community that raised her.

Her clinical passions include preventive medicine, women’s health, obesity medicine, quality improvement, patient education, and addressing social determinants of health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending festivals, visiting small towns, exercising, and watching movies.
